Event hosting, keynote talks, science workshops, science communication training, lots of writing, and video making are all on the cards for 2025.
2024 was a year filled with science talks at schools and companies, event hosting, science communication trainings, and lots of writing.
So, what’s on the agenda for 2025 in terms of science communication and outreach? Here’s a short look ahead to some of the projects that are already in my diary for 2025.
Event hosting and moderating

2025 starts with a bang in January as I’ll be moderating NWO Physics from January 20th to January 22nd, which is taking place in Veldhoven, the Netherlands.
NWO Physics brings the physics research community in the Netherlands together for three days of networking, presentations, and light-hearted physics moments too. Prominent keynote speakers will share inspiring talks about their work, while young researchers get the opportunity to share their current research with the physics community. As a physicist, I’m very much looking forward to being part of the programme for NWO Physics 2025.
In addition, in collaboration with SURF, I’ll be co-hosting the National XR Day 2025 on July 2nd 2025 in Rotterdam at Erasmus Universiteit. It’ll be my third time hosting this awesome event, and it’s a conference that I’m always excited to be part of.
I’m also set to host a number of other events over the course of the year, details of which will be shared in due course.
If you are looking for a native English speaking host/moderator for your future event, you can contact me via the contact form on my website or email: info@bwscience.com.
Keynote talks and science workshops

I love to talk and I love to share engaging stories about lots of scientific and technology-based topics. Added to that, I love to base many of these stories on elements from popular culture such as superheroes, Star Wars, and Santa Claus.
For instance, this year, I’ll be touring Ireland during Engineers Week 2025 (March 2nd to 9th) and Science Week 2025. Science Week is really Science Month for me as I’ll be travelling around Ireland from November 3rd until November 23rd to share science-based stories at schools, festivals, companies, and universities.
I’m almost booked out for Engineers Week 2025, and I’ve already received a number of bookings for Science Week 2025. If you’re interested in talks for Engineers Week, Science Week, and any time of the year, email at info@bwscience.com.
In addition, I’ve got some keynote presentations on science and technologies in my agenda for 2025 too.
I’m also planning a December visit to Ireland to tour the country with my show the ‘Secret Science of Santa Claus’. If your school, library, company, festival, or public Christmas event are interested in a fun, engaging, and science-based talk on Christmas, be sure to let me know!
If you are looking for an inspiring keynote talk on future science and technologies, you can contact me via the contact form on my website or email: info@bwscience.com.
Science communication training

In 2024, I delivered various science communication and outreach trainings to organisations such as Abbott Ireland, Monaghan County Council (Ireland), Ulm University (Germany), SURF (Netherlands), and 4TU.HTM (Netherlands). In 2025, I’ll also be delivering several science communication and outreach trainings with some already in place with Abbott Ireland in February.
My trainings cover a range of topics such as the art of pitching, effective slide and poster design, scientific storytelling, and engaging methods for science outreach.
I also offer individual trainings for researchers and professionals alike that can be tailored to the needs of the individual. Last year, I worked with clients who were preparing for inaugural lectures, funding interviews, international conference talks, major company presentations, and panel interviews.
If you or your organisation are interested in discussing some of the training options that I offer with BW Science, you can contact me via the contact form on the homepage of my website or email: info@bwscience.com.
Writing and Book Number 5

This year will also be a busy year for writing too.
Last year, I published my 4th book – Superheroes – which I co-wrote with Etienne Augé, a book that was published by Bot Uitgevers in the Netherlands.
This year, I’m busy writing book number 5. The new book is on a very exciting topic and one that could have a huge impact on society in the future. I’ve been working on the book with an organisation for a number of months already. Stay tuned for more information on the book and the topic. There will be an official announcement soon. I’m also exploring ideas for my next books too, and exploring exciting new collaborations on that front too (which will also involve some video too). Stay tuned for announcements on that.
In addition, I’ll be writing more freelance pieces for websites and magazines. For instance, at the end of the year, I wrote the piece ‘Why does Santa wear red’ for RTE Brainstorm. A fun story to write that was inspired by a question from 10-year-old girl during a talk about the science of Santa Claus in Dunleer, Co. Louth last year.
Always think super!
